Use social media
Utilize your social media accounts to share wedding photography content either from you or from other wedding photographers whose works you admire. Social media is extremely powerful as a marketing platform. You will be able to reach out to so many people in the smallest of efforts and that is something that you should never underestimate. Make sure that you are able to pump in fresh content every now and then. It might be your own content or a re-tweet or shared post from somebody else. The point of the matter is that you will need to make sure that you are able to keep yourself “visible” at all costs. Try to schedule your posts at around the same day each week just so that your subscribers or followers know exactly when they will get to hear about new content from you. It is a long and slow process but it is something that will build up over time so it is definitely worth working on at the end of the day.
Always deliver a turnaround time that is quick based off of the timetables promised to your wedding photography clients. You have to understand this from the standpoint of your clients. They have just celebrated one of the biggest days of their lives. Naturally, they will be more than anxious to go ahead and take a look at those photos and you should make sure that you are able to shorten their wait time as much as you possibly can. Do not let the turnaround time be more than a week after the event has been held. That is too long of a wait. Ideally, you should able to deliver the photos with the next 24 to 48 hours. A lot of clients usually require for a same day edit so you will need to upgrade your skills and to prepare so that you will be able to cater to that kind of request as well.
Give the bride a few wedding photography tips. You should always make friends with the bride and should always look out for your best interests. After all, the wedding really is all about the bride. This is her special day and you should make her look as such in the photos. Give her some tips about how to pose herself and how to position her angles in such a way that it will make her look really great in the photos that you take at the end of the day. These are little things when you come to think of it but these are things that the bride really will get to appreciate especially if you go through the lengths of actually coaching her all throughout the wedding photography shoot.
Manage the members of the family who would like to take their own photos. There will always be family members who will try to take snaps of their own and that’s really quite fine for as long as they do not interrupt what you are doing. Give them time in between takes to take their own photos so that they can get the pictures that they would like to take without getting too much in the way of what you are trying to accomplish.
